Labour Day

September 2, 2013, Labour Day
Monday, Labour Day weekend and we just arrived home from a beautiful wedding on the Bra d'or Lakes in Cape Breton. The weather was very rough at times but the big day, itself, was warm and sunny. If you have ever stopped at the Masstown Market in Nova Scotia ; it is wonderful to see all the produce that is in season now. The low bush blueberries were all lined up in a row waiting for a buyer and the freshly harvested corn was piled up in bins for you to dig into. These are the finished results of  the farmer's work for this season, completed with pride just as we are proud  to  finish our quilts.

Today, we will show you a couple of smart baby quilts. The first one is a collection of owls. Heather's quilt is 49" x 61" and is cute as can be. The quilt pattern on it is called "Cloud Nine Petite" and is meandered all over the quilt. This is a project completed showing the fruits of her labour on this holiday weekend. Way to go Heather!

Our next baby quilt was done by Dini, It is 33" x 45 "and has criss crosses on it. The quilting pattern is called "Little Nature' done in a blue thread. It is hard to see the pattern on this printed backing but there are little fireflies, butterflies and other small creatures all over. Cute little diapered babies crawl across these quilt blocks and borders. This baby is going to love this soft quilt, I'm sure of it. Happy Labour Day weekend! See you Thursday, Gwenda
