Christmas displays

Monday, December 16, 2013
In our travels over the past few weeks, we saw many lovely displays and decorations. Folks enjoy decorating their premises with all kinds of  things that remind them of Christmas or  the birth of our Saviour. Enjoy these random Christmas snaps and our Christmas quilt for today's post. We will return in the New Year and would like to wish everyone a joyous and safe season.

Our Christmas quilt today was made by Laura Lee. It is 64" x 87" and is a beautiful quilt done in the pattern called "Christmas Paisely"  The backing is a very soft flannel and the pattern stands out really well on it. This quilt is as cozy as it gets. Merry Christmas and we will blog again in January. Gwenda Quilts

Ah! New falling snow and Santa on the porch

Thursday, December 12, 2013.
The decorating is almost finished and just in time for a new snowfall. There is nothing prettier than fresh snow on and among the wreaths and lights. Temperatures are dropping and our cold spell is here. Is it time to put another quilt on the bed? Many of us are still working on those last minute Christmas gifts and like many I am busy binding my tree skirt and table runners.

Today's quilt is a lovely Christmas quilt, done by Carol. It is 87" x 92" and is quilted in the pattern called "Christmas Paisley". There are lots of Christmas prints and colors in this quilt and it gives you that warm Christmas spirit. Do you decorate with your Christmas quilts? I do and I love the warmth they bring to a home. Keep up the good work! We love to see them.

Christmas Lights

Monday, December 9, 2013
The Christmas lights are shining everywhere now  and we stopped at the Victoria Hall in New Maryland to snap this pretty photo. My outside decorating is finished for this year, I think. I am still working on the inside, in between quilting customer quilts. I feel I am progressing nicely even though I'm late for our blog today.

This photo is a neighbour's house that has hundreds of lights. When you turn your car radio to 107.9 FM you will see all the lights take turn in time to the music. Hours and hours of work went into this.I'm sure just like the hours we quilters spend on the projects we create.
Today's quilt is actually a Christmas tablecloth done by Marilyn. It is 38" x 38" and is quilted with "Holly Swirls" all over. This will be great with some of Marilyn's Christmas decorating this year. Do you have all your Christmas decorating projects complete? There is still time! Gwenda

More snow to come for snowballs

Thursday, December 5, 2013.

We always love the first snowfall it seems when everything is transformed into winter wonderland. Our snow is almost gone again but the opportunity to make snowmen and lots of snowballs stayed for a short time. This brings me to our quilt below with fantastic snowballs already made for you.

Today we show this pretty snowball quilt made by Joey. It measures 60" x 82" and is quilted all over with a pattern called "Daisy May"at 8 inches. I know, daisies and snowballs? Joey loved this pattern and wanted to enjoy both so why not? She has a lovely quilt here and the quilting is done in a moss green thread. Nice job Joey!
